Elena Scarlata is an award winning designer
known for her unique patterns,
bright colours and eco-fabric printed by hand
using an old Sicilian handprinting technique.


Graphic Designer Career 

Since she began her career as a textile designer
she has won several international awards, such as:
HOMI Makers Milan (2017),
Pulse London 2018, London Craft Week 2019 (Italian Table) 
and has had important collaborations with Museum shops: 
Ara Pacis Rome, MACRO Rome,
Triennale Museum Milano, British Library London,
University of Art London, to mention just a few.

After study at IED and at the London College of Art (UAL)
she works 15 years as a Graphic Designer for prestigious British
and American multinational companies
in the fashion, corporate
and events fields.

In 2017 she moved to Italy where she has established 
her atelier in Rome and than in Sicily and made her home.

She also she attended several handprinting fabric courses in London before beginning her career as an indipendent designer
inspired by Enzo Mari and the English aesthetic movement 
Art & Craft of William Morris.

She mixes her design experience, love for art,
and Mediterranean identity in making a unique
and sustainable handprinted fabric products
that are emotionally engaged, functional and sustainable.

Elena draws inspiration from her family’s creative DNA.  
She has inherited her passion for fabrics from her grandmother, a skilled embroiderer and her mother,
a gifted designer.
