Participating in Maison & Objet Paris had been a dream of mine for a long time. When I walked through the doors of the Pattern Lab pavilion, I realized I was entering a place where patterns, surfaces, fabrics, and textures become a visual language. As the designer and art director of my brand, it was an opportunity for me to showcase my Mediterranean world in an international setting.
At my booth, number 72 of the Pattern Lab , I didn't just sell designs: I offered customizations, told stories, and forged relationships. This article is the story of that experience—and a taste of what's to come.
What is the Pattern Lab and why was it essential for me?
The Pattern Lab is a specialized section of Maison & Objet dedicated to designers of surfaces, textures, and patterns who transform every object into decorative art.
For a brand like mine, which works on porcelain, furniture, custom fabrics, and wallpaper—weaving the Mediterranean theme with a contemporary twist—exhibiting at Pattern Lab means engaging with those seeking beauty, tactility, and personality.
It provides visibility, international credibility and allows you to meet buyers, concept stores, architects and other high-profile designers.
My Stand 72: Where the Mediterranean and Customization Meet
When I designed the space, I wanted it to exude a Mediterranean atmosphere: warm light, rich surfaces, natural shades, patterns inspired by my Byzantine and Arab-Norman roots, Mediterranean signs and symbols reinterpreted with modern lines.
At my stand I offered:
“Ready-made” drawings that could be purchased directly
Pattern customization services : the customer could request color variations, tailor-made adaptations, special formats
Multiple applications of my patterns: from fabric to porcelain, from custom furnishings to wallpaper.
In each product I wanted the Mediterranean trait to be recognizable but reinterpreted, contemporary, capable of dialoguing with modern contexts.
Relationships built: seeds sown for the future
A trade fair isn't just an exhibition: it's a network of relationships. During those days, I met prestigious brands that I'd like to officially announce soon.
Here's what happened behind the scenes:
- Exchange visions and projects with brands that share attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Dialogues with international buyers interested in including my Mediterranean and handmade style in their collections
- Valuable feedback that led me to reflect on technical variants, materials and markets
These relationships are not “signed contracts,” but rather seedlings that I will cultivate in the coming months.

The personal side: emotions, tensions and growth
There were moments when my heart beat fast: the first opening to the public, the gaze of someone who recognized the Mediterranean in a pattern, the unexpected encounter with a designer I admired.
I have lived:
- The effort of assembly, of optimizing space
- The adrenaline rush of opening day
- The pride when a visitor asks you for a unique customization
- The sense of responsibility towards my brand and my vision
This experience taught me that international design is not just about aesthetics: it's about courage, empathy, and the ability to communicate across different worlds.

What's Next: Preview and Preview
From today onwards:
- I will soon reveal the collaborations born at the fair
- I will bring new lines inspired by international feedback into my future collections
- I will strengthen the brand's customizable offering
- I will tell you every step: from technical choices to production, up to delivery.
If you enjoyed this journey through patterns and the Mediterranean, I invite you to stay connected with my Journal: much more will be coming soon.
